Sort of my personal "to do" list as an illustrator. I had written it down somewhere, or at least intended to, but have since lost it. So something I would do. I figure it'll stay here until I update my journal, a task I usually abhor. I always have to remind myself.
Dear Self,
for a successful drawing be conscientious of the folloing:
-Line Value
-Depth
-General Tone of the image/Values
-MORE BLACK! Don't be scared to push an image as far as it'll go.
-If you do take it too far, and it can't be salvaged, don't worry. Do better next time. Make everything a lesson.
-Ask yourself why you are drawing this image.
-Do more figure drawing
-Draw from life, you lazy fool!
-Perspective--it makes sense for a reason
-Pick a light source, and stick with it
-Atmosphere
-And for God's sake, LOOSEN UP!
Love,
Self
